This site is a labor of love. For those of you who frequent Portsmouth Island, you know what we mean. Those who have never been to the island? Well, this site can only give you a snapshot of the fun and relaxed atmosphere that exists on the North Core Banks.
Paradise Found is the best way to describe Portsmouth Island!!!!!
For us, it all starts with the most delicious bacon, egg & cheese sandwich known to man, cooked to order at the Marina grill while we await our turn on the early ferry. Then there's the anticipation as Kari and Anne fill us in on the latest fishing reports. "Big drum on the North Point!" The ferry can't leave fast enough. We load up and, as we cross the sound, we marvel at the incredible scenery and discuss this year's fishing strategy like we were preparing for the Super Bowl. Some of us crack open the week's first Budweiser, even though it's only 7:20 in the morning. Finally, we get to the dock, unload, unpack, pack the bait, beer and food coolers with more ice, take air out of the tires, switch to 4WD and head out.....
